Tray Alexander Hendrix

Tray Alexander Hendrix, 38, recently of Pahrump, Nevada, passed away on
January 16, 2022 at Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas, following a courageous
battle with a prolonged illness complicated by Diabetes. Tray was born at Fort
Leonard wood, MO on July 18, 1983. The child of military parents, he attended
kindergarten in Germany, elementary school in Columbia, SC and middle and high
school at Fort Meade, MD where he was a member of the Ft. Meade Cougars
varsity football team. Tray is survived by his fiancee Eury Le Tarde and her
children MiKayla and Timmy, mother Mary Lawrence, step-father Michael
Lawrence, step-brother Robby Lawrence, father David Hendrix, Jr., step-mother
Sylvia Hendrix, uncle Michael Hendrix, aunts Jan Howard and Judy Smith, several
cousins and his rescue cat Blacky.
The last few years were probably the happiest of Tray’s life. After reconnecting
with elementary and middle school friend and sweetheart Eury Le Tarde, he
moved to Pahrump, NV to live with her and her children Kayla and Timmy. While
not a fan of the desert, Tray had at last found true love and family. Moving from
South Carolina to Nevada to be with Eury and children he hadn’t met was a leap

of faith, but one he never regretted. He often spoke of how becoming a step-
father gave him a deeper respect for his own step-father and understanding of

how complicated yet rewarding that relationship could be. Having no children of
his own Tray was thrilled to become “bonus dad” to Kayla and Timmy.
Words can’t come close to expressing our loss. Tray will be forever remembered
as a loving, generous, compassionate, sensitive and funny man who loved people
and animals. He enjoyed making people laugh and would go out of his way to
help a friend or stranger in need. He was forever curious, interested in the
mysteries of science, nature and the universe, loved watching the history channel
and science fiction and spent many hours working on and improving his cars. He
was also a loyal Baltimore Ravens fan. Tray touched many lives and will be
deeply missed, fiercely loved and fondly recalled by the people who were part of
his life. His life wasn’t his list of jobs and accomplishments, but of the people he
touched as he went through life. In accordance with his wishes Tray will be
cremated.
