Shirly was a devoted wife and loving mother. She left this plane to the next, on the evening of May 21st, 2021. Two days before her 83rd birthday.
Leaving behind her beloved husband, Robert. Her son, Al (lovingly known as Bear). As well as 2 daughters, Vickie & Michele. Also to be included, even though not of her body, but loved and cared for just as much. Her stepchildren, Clarance, Sandra, and Deloris. Three nephews, at least 5 nieces, several grand and great-grandchildren. Great nieces and nephews... and enough cousins to take over a state! Into the arms of her sisters, Mary and Gloria and her two oldest sons, Dennie and Darryl (known to the family as Bocky). She has now traveled and found her way back home , reunited with them once again.
She was a fun loving free spirit who loved to travel and go on adventures. She was never happy sitting at home for too long, before she was ready to hit the road again. Native to Colorado, she loved the Rocky Mountains. "The mountains in Nevada were foothills compared to them!" was her favorite expression when anyone asked. It's where she first learned how to drive, thanks to Grandpa Robert Nelson's love for fishing. She and her spouse, Robert, had many fishing adventures too. There was not a lake that they could not find when they set out to find it. She loved to hang out with friends and family. Her door was always open to anyone who needed guidance or just to talk. She liked the simple things in life and was content just to sit outside on the porch when there was nothing else going on. She was everybody's mom and will be missed by everyone who's lives she touched... even if it was only in passing.
Sadly... Robert loved and missed Shirley so much that he followed her to the next life. Thirteen days after, on June 3rd, 2021. He left this earthly plane to be with his wife in the hereafter at just 95 years young. His legacy still lives on with his 3 remaining children... Sandra, Clarence, and Deloris. And, he will be missed by several grand kids. As well as nieces, nephews, cousins and greats of all kinds. With two family pillars taken at once, a love story 38 years in the making has come to an end.
