Towfiq Bassil Kharoufeh

Towfiq Kharoufeh, age 81, passed away on March 5, 2025, in Henderson, Nevada. He was born on February 26, 1944, in Bethlehem, Palestine to his loving parents, Bassil Kharoufeh and Mary Hannouneh.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle, Towfiq built a life centered around family, hard work, and generosity. As a business owner, he poured his heart into the restaurants he ran, serving not only food but warmth and hospitality to all who walked through his doors. Beyond his work in the restaurant industry, Towfiq was a highly skilled craftsman. He had a passion for wood carving and home building, using his gifted hands to create and shape with precision and care. Whether constructing homes or carving intricate designs, his craftsmanship was a testament to his dedication, patience, creativity, and artistry. His art has been bought and sold around the world and his gifts are mantled in the homes of people in all walks of life.

An honest and diligent man, Towfiq believed in the value of perseverance and integrity. He had an unmatched sense of humor—always cracking jokes, lifting spirits, and making sure no one ever left his home without being fed to their heart’s (and waistband’s) content. His wisdom and kindness were guiding lights, carrying his family through life’s joys and challenges.

Towfiq is preceded in death by his parents, Bassil and Mary, as well as his beloved sisters, Victoria Kessler and Nazira Courts.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Fida Kharoufeh, and his five children: Gada McMahan, Tagrid Kharoufeh, Jeff Kharoufeh, Talah Kharoufeh, and Abeer Kharoufeh. He is also lovingly remembered by his brothers, Mikhail Kharoufeh, Maurice Zumut, and Frank Zumut, and his sister, Mona Zumut. His legacy lives on through his five children, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the love and laughter he brought into their lives.

A memorial service and visitation will be held on March 18, 2025, at 1111 Las Vegas Blvd N, Las Vegas, NV 89101, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. A service and prayer will begin at 11:00 AM to honor his memory. Words may be shared by those who shared his love.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all extended family and friends for their support, love, and prayers during this difficult time. Towfiq’s warmth, wisdom, craftsmanship, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
