Thomas Michael Stark, 82, passed away on March 17, 2025 in Las Vegas. He was born February 9, 1943 in Kansas to Robert and Alice Brown Stark, and grew up in Salina Kansas. He graduated from KU with a bachelors and juris doctorate degree. He was a very proud Jayhawk. Because of Vietnam, Tom enlisted in the Air Force, where they finally decided to use his law degree and send him to OTS in Texas to become an officer where he graduated first in his class. While stationed in Okinawa, Japan, he met the love of his life, Marilyn, on a blind date. After leaving the Air Force, he and Marilyn traveled for a year in Europe. Back in the US, they eventually settled in Las Vegas in 1976 where they joined First Presbyterian Church, now Grace, and where they became devoted UNLV Rebels basketball fans from day one with season tickets, and where Tom practiced law and took extraordinary care of his clients until retirement. Tom was a proud member of the Host Lions Club for 47 years and was president twice. He was a board member of the Lions Eye Foundation for many years and a board member and past president of the Nevada Donor Network. Tom was a Mason, Shrine attorney, and Jester. He also participated in other community activities and charities and was a very good drummer. Tom and Marilyn loved to travel and managed to see quite a bit of the world together in their 53 years of marriage. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dick and Maurice (Buzz) Stark. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn and son Brian and his wife Tracy and nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held on Monday, April 28 at 11 AM in the chapel of Grace Presbyterian Church at 1515 W. Charleston Blvd. A small reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Tom’s honor to the Host Lions Club, PO Box 27858, Las Vegas, NV, 89126 or the Grace Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 1515 West Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89102.ReplyReply allForward
