Paul Heyder Junkman

Junkman, Paul Heyder age 87 of Henderson, NV, passed away August 23, 2022.

He was born in River Falls, WI to Ray and Clara Junkman on March 30, 1935.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Keiko, brothers Wayne, Howard, William, and Frederick, and sister Lois.

He is survived by his daughter Patricia (Derek) and granddaughters Mila and Arianna.

Paul proudly served his country in the Vietnam War as a Chief Gunner’s Mate and spent 24 years in the Navy
until his retirement in June 1982.

He then worked for 18 years in the civil service as a stock clerk at the Hickam Commissary until he retired in 2000 at the age of 65.

Paul was not known to be impulsive, but in 1969 after meeting his wife Keiko in Yokosuka, Japan, he wasted little time in asking her to marry him.

Of course, she made him wait.

They were married in Japan on May 28, 1970.

Paul was a devoted Packers fan who looked forward to the football season.

He was very organized, neat, and thrived on structure.

His many years in the military likely contributed.

He took pride in keeping a clean house and he loved working in his yard.

He was a man of few words but his granddaughters brought out the best in him.

He loved them dearly and would think of them often.

It was his oldest granddaughter, Mila who brought him back to the Lord October 23, 2021.

He was extremely independent and clung onto his independence until the end.

He wasn’t one to rely on others.

He took great care of his house. He was so proud of it and all the work he put into it.

He did the best he could, and he did it well.
