Douglas Simmons

Douglas Fred Simmons of Las Vegas passed away on January 18, 2025 at UMC. He was the second of four children born to Fredrick and Elsa Simmons on July 24th, 1937 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was a Veteran of the Air Force and a Train Conductor for Ramada Express of Laughlin (his favorite job) for many years. He loved and spent many years renovating and decorating homes and apartments. In his retirement community at Las Vegas Manor for the last 11 years, he made many friends who cared for him as much as he cared for them, as he made them laugh and smile. Doug is survived by his two daughters, Kimberley (66) and Kelli Simmons (65) and three sons, Skip Meyer (64), Lloyd Simmons (63) and Jeff Meyer (62). He is also survived by nieces Marie Dean, Cindy Peel and DeVonna Golden, along with his beloved grand children, Samantha Benson (37), Danielle Simmons (36) and Olivia Bowles (26) and dear great-grandchildren, Jaci Simmons (17), Matthew and Wyatt Benson (13) and Raine Simmons (4). Doug will be peacefully laid to rest next to his mother, Elsa, sister Josephine, and love of his life, wife Lu at the Mountain View Cemetery -1301 Stockton Hill Rd., Kingman, Arizona. (Date yet to be determined).
